My family tends to have a "tradition" I guess of visiting the Chicken House in Olpe, KS. Olpe, KS population of 507 is where my grandfather grew up. So, when we visit Olpe, we are certain to run into people we know, or are related to. Since we were in KS this past week, we had to visit the Chicken House before we left. Here are a few pics!

Nana Jean

My grandmother passed away on Sunday Feb. 8th. I spent the week in Kansas with my family. My grandmother was a fabulous cook! She was always cooking something wonderful for our family to enjoy! My sisters and I laugh at recipes we have from my Nana Jean b/c she wrote down the recipes how she cooks them. A "pinch" of this a
"small" package of that and a "$0.25 package" of that. Needless to say, none of us have mastered her art of cooking! :) My sisters and I have 4 cousins--- and we all have grown up in different states-- visiting our grandmother at different times. It was so neat to be there with all my cousins and get to visit with them as well. We will all miss our grandmother--- but we all know she is really happy to join Papa D and Uncle Dave.
